What exactly does my membership fee cover?+
Your monthly membership covers access to the Vaya platform and clinical programme — doctor consultations, care coordinator support, dose management, progress summaries, and diet guidance. Medication is a separate cost, billed directly by our licensed pharmacy partner. We keep them separate so you always know exactly what you're paying for.
How much does the medication cost?+
Generic semaglutide through our pharmacy partner costs a fraction of branded Ozempic or Wegovy — typically 85–90% less. Members can expect to pay approximately ₹2,000–₹3,000 per month for their medication, depending on prescribed dose. The exact cost is confirmed before any medication is dispatched. No hidden charges.
Am I guaranteed a prescription when I join?+
No — and this is important. A prescription is only issued after a licensed MBBS doctor independently reviews your health information and determines that semaglutide is clinically appropriate. Our eligibility quiz assesses whether you're likely to qualify, but the final decision always rests with the doctor.
How long will I be on the programme?+
Most patients see meaningful results within 3–6 months. The programme is designed in three phases — Start, Adjust, Maintain — with a structured tapering protocol built in from day one. The goal is for you to reach your target weight and transition off medication with a long-term maintenance framework in place.
Can I cancel at any time?+
Yes. You can cancel your membership at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current monthly billing period — you retain access until then. No partial refunds for unused days within a paid month.
Who is the doctor I'll be seeing?+
All prescriptions are issued exclusively by registered MBBS doctors with a valid Medical Council of India or State Medical Council registration. Vaya does not work with any practitioner without a current, unrestricted licence to practise medicine in India. Credentials are verified before onboarding and reviewed annually.
Is this medication safe? What are the side effects?+
Semaglutide is a well-studied medication with an extensive clinical evidence base — the STEP trials published in the New England Journal of Medicine demonstrated significant and sustained weight loss. Common side effects include nausea, reduced appetite, and mild gastrointestinal discomfort, particularly early on. These typically reduce as your body adjusts.
How is my personal and health data protected?+
Your health information is classified as Sensitive Personal Data under Indian data protection rules and handled accordingly — collected only with your explicit consent, encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold to third parties. We retain medical records only for the minimum period required by law. Full details in our
Privacy Policy.
